CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
 

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual
to administer and manage information and communication technology (ICT) 
support in small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) using a wide range of
general ICT technologies.
Persons working at this level provide a broader rather than a specialized  ICT support
function. Applying a wide range of higher level technical skills in ICT areas such as networking, IT support, Database development, Programming & web development.

Information technology (IT) is the use of computers to store, 
retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data,
or information, often in the context of a business or other enterprise.
IT is considered to be a subset of information and communications technology (ICT).
It is therefore the study or use of systems (especially computers and telecommunications) for storing, retrieving, and sending information.

DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (KNEC)

 
The diploma in information technology is ideal for students
who have an interest in computing. It provides a broad introduction
to computer science, enabling students to pursue further studies in specialisations
such software design/ & information systems.

Assessment Methods 

Candidates are assessed through assignments, tests and written case studies for all modules.The Certificate and Diploma in Project Management will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

 

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants should possess one of the following:

    • Basic computer knowledge

    • Entry Requirements: KCSE/GCSE result of D (CERTIFICATE  LEVEL)

    • Entry Requirements: KCSE/GCSE result of C- (DIPLOMA LEVEL)

  • Admission to the program is subject to the approval of Graffins College Academic Board.
